A Typical Day at Bluebell Wood Boarding Kennels

Morning

Our day starts at 8am (not too early for our sleepy boarders, remember they are on their hols!). Each dog is taken out individually or in their family groups for some light exercise and fresh air on the grounds immediately surrounding the kennel block; this is followed by breakfast, if required; all runs are cleaned and disinfected; breakfast bowls cleared and fresh water supplied. Now we have 'quiet time', the dogs are left alone to relax, play and maybe a bit more shut eye. But not for long! Now the fun begins......

.... and what makes fun - PLAYTIME

Throughout the morning all our guests are encouraged to come out and play with us and whenever possible with each other. The best play for a dog is interaction with another. The play sessions are supervised and controlled allowing the dogs to mix and socialise safely.

Lunch

The morning is rounded off with a walk. All dogs are taken out through our private wooded walkway onto a secluded tree-lined track. Following this period of exercise and light stimulation we have a "quiet time" for our guests.

Early Evening

After their siesta all dogs come out again individually or as a family group for some more exercise, fresh air and sunshine. Again we incorporate play with grooming and interacting, building up an appetite ready for their evening meal. The runs are cleaned again, if necessary and water bowls changed. Our aim is to spend as much time with our guests during the day and evening, helping them to feel relaxed and enjoy their stay with us.

Bedtime

Just before bedtime, all the dogs are taken out individually or as a family group for some fresh air and an end of the day stroll. Then we leave our guests to settle for the night.
