Kennels Open Day 2007

The first open day was organised to celebrate the 1st anniversary of Bluebell Wood Boarding Kennels. It soon turned into a mini summer fete, swiftly growing when we added a few fun stalls to raise funds for the SPA and Phoenix Rescue.
As well as the stalls and support of a local country band, there was a display of basic dog obedience and a fun dog show.
The weather was fantastic, making the day a great success with many people and dogs turning out to give their support. Raising a substantial 400€ for the two charities.

Kennels Open Day 2008

A year on, with experience under our belt and a huge team of volunteers, we decided to make the event much bigger. Concentrating on raising more funds for the two charities.
This year we had many more stalls, two bands, dog obedience displays, dancing displays, fun dog show, and many more attractions including an auction raising a massive total of 2330€.

Sponsored Walk 2008

What a great time was had by all. The weather was very hot, but better than rain! The turnout was wonderful. A huge thanks to all who came along and of course those who were involved in organizing the walk and the welcome refreshments afterwards. This really was a great afternoon and we raised a massive 630€.

Fun Dog Show 2008

This event was a spin off from our summer fete. Joy from Paws4Thought (in-house training centre) and myself were asked to organise a similar dog show at the Montrollet village fete.
It was a great afternoon and well supported by English and French hopefuls, looking to bag a rosette or two. All in the name of fun - some of the classes were for the Best Biscuit Catcher, Best Six Legs, Waggiest Tail, Greyest Muzzle. The Scurry brought lots of enthusiasm from both dogs and owners, ending with a very exciting Chase me Charlie.
In addition, there was a stall selling second-hand books, which proved very popular and the two events raised nearly 100€.
